Storm and Recovery Information
This Storm Recovery Resources landing page was established by the San Bernardino County Office of Emergency Services to serve as a centralized hub for recovery information and assistance following the recent storms.
San Bernardino County experienced significant storm impacts from December 23-26, including flooding, debris flows, and infrastructure damage. While the storm system has passed, County departments and partner agencies continue recovery operations in impacted communities.
Residents can use this page to access available recovery assistance, local resources, safety guidance, and official updates as recovery efforts continue.
LOCAL ASSISTANCE CENTER (LAC)
The LAC will provide support services to affected residents and businesses from Wrightwood, Lytle Creek, Phelan, and Hesperia, who need information on disaster-related losses or damage resources. Representatives from the County, State, and non-government organizations will be available to answer questions. Additionally, transportation to and from the Care and Reception Centers (CRCs) and the Local Assistance Center (LAC) will be available for residents.

Phelan and Piñon Hills
THIS CRC HAS CLOSED
A Care and Reception Center is open at Phelan Piñon Hills Community Services District to support residents impacted by the recent storm, with support from San Bernardino County departments, including the Transitional Assistance Department, Department of Aging and Adult Services, Department of Behavioral Health, Animal Care and the Department of Public Health.

Lytle Creek
THIS CRC HAS CLOSED
A Care and Reception Center is open at Fire Station 20 in Lytle Creek to support residents impacted by the recent storm, with support from San Bernardino County departments, including the Transitional Assistance Department, Department of Aging and Adult Services, Department of Behavioral Health, and Environmental Health Services.

Melody’s Place will have food, water, trash bags, sand and sandbags available as well. Located at 551 Lytle Creek Rd, Lytle Creek, CA 92358.
Trash Bins Available
San Bernardino County Office of Emergency Services and San Bernardino County Public Works are working together to support our mountain communities by providing temporary household trash bins for residents impacted by recent conditions.
Trash Bin Location
- Lytle Creek: Located at Melody’s Place (551 Lytle Creek Rd, Lytle Creek, CA 92358) and the Care and Reception Center (497 Lytle Creek Rd, Lytle Creek, CA 92358)
- Please note: Rocks, soil, dirt, vegetation, and hazardous materials (including batteries and electronics) are not allowed in dumpsters.
Dirt Dumping Site
- Located on S Fork Rd in Lytle Creek.
- The Lytle Creek dump site is open and safe for public loads. Please note: only clean fill dirt is accepted. Do not bring organics, household waste, or building/construction debris.

Flood Preparedness PRECAUTIONS AND TIPS TO STAY SAFE:
- If you live in an area prone to flooding or near a burn scar, stay alert to rapidly changing conditions and be prepared to move to safety quickly.
- If a Flash Flood Warning is issued, stay off the roads and move away from waterways.
- If you live near a recent burn area, go immediately to an interior room on the lowest risk side of your home or move to higher ground such as a second floor.
- In general, avoid rivers, creeks, streams, recent wildfire burn areas, and any low-lying or flood-prone locations.
